County plans solar arrays and EV chargers at Emerson Park using NYSERDA funds; ChargePoint purchase to be authorized in August

Planner Emily Antonacci reported the county is implementing NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities grants totaling $135,000 to fund rooftop and ground‑mounted solar installations and up to four public EV charging stations at Emerson Park. Antonacci said the combined funding package leverages NYSERDA grants, IRA Direct Pay tax credits, NYSUN incentives, and Make Ready utility incentives to cover equipment and installation costs.
Antonacci said construction on the EV chargers is likely to begin next fall pending contractor selection and utility approvals. The Purchasing Director has obtained a sole‑source letter from ChargePoint and staff expect to bring a resolution in August to authorize a contract and purchase of ChargePoint EV charging stations to be paid from the grant funds.
