Town of Conquest finishes recommended land‑use regulations; public hearing set for July 21

Senior Planner Evan Tuthill reported the Town of Conquest steering committee finalized proposed land‑use regulations developed by the Cayuga County Planning Department. The package includes rules for site plan review, special use permits, solar energy systems, Town Environmental Quality Review (SEQR), and subdivision standards, and the town initiated environmental review on May 19.
Tuthill said the County GML 239 Committee recommended approval on June 18 and that a public hearing is scheduled for July 21, 2025; the town anticipates adoption immediately following the hearing. The project has generated $9,933.80 in revenue to date with an additional estimated $2,500 anticipated before completion, and the Town has budgeted $5,000 for further CCPED services related to training and building dimension updates.
