Lewisville asks Jefferson County to consider MOU to stretch $100,000 road grant

Mayor Fred Tucker of the City of Lewisville asked Jefferson County commissioners to consider a cooperative Memorandum of Understanding to extend the impact of a $100,000 Local Highway Technical Assistance Council (LHTAC) grant awarded to Lewisville for road improvements.
"The grant will not cover all needed work," Tucker said, and requested the county consider providing materials, equipment and labor in a joint approach similar to past collaborations with other cities. He said timing of any joint work would be weather-dependent and coordinated with the county's schedule. Commissioners directed staff to draft an MOU that outlines responsibilities and costs for future consideration.
No formal vote was taken on Feb. 9; staff will draft the agreement for later review and potential action.
