PCPSA reports 10% water loss in Q2 FY26; estimated $2,818 revenue impact

Executive Director Mark Vernon presented the PCPSA Usage & Revenue Summary for the 2nd quarter of fiscal year 2026, reporting 5,719,400 gallons billed at the Town master meter and 5,148,949 gallons billed at individual customer meters. That difference—570,451 gallons—was characterized as approximately a 10% loss (about 2.14 gallons per minute) and was estimated to represent $2,818 in lost revenue at the Town's billed rate.
Vernon told directors that water loss increased by 16,542 gallons compared with Q2 FY25, while water consumption from the Town and consumption by PCPSA customers increased by 316,100 and 299,558 gallons, respectively. Sewer billed usage (based on metered water usage) was reported as 1,704,010 gallons; sewer sent to the Town decreased by 134,338 gallons versus Q2 FY25. The board received the report; no formal rate or operational action was taken during the meeting.
