Commission to revisit free senior and first-responder passes after nonresident case

At the July 20 meeting Jennifer Parsons read an email from Robyn at the Litchfield Town Clerk about a resident who reported difficulty obtaining a free senior pass. The commission determined the person in question is a Watertown resident and therefore not eligible for a free season pass under the commission’s rules as described in the minutes.
Commissioners discussed operational problems arising from complimentary passes for seniors and first responders, including cases in which free-pass holders bring multiple children or family members. The minutes record no change in policy at the session; the commission placed the topic on the August agenda and assigned Kathy VanOrmer to pick up forms and funds in Litchfield and to deliver additional passes in Morris.
