Owner T. Basti described an 800-square-foot historic house on the property at 1239 Bantam Road that would qualify as an accessory apartment if restored and occupied. The parcel received subdivision approval on August 18, 2024 with a condition requiring a Special Exception ADU application should the historic house (built in 1800 and within the front setback) be restored and used; the lot also contains a newly built 2,025-square-foot home with a new well and septic system.
Commissioners set a public hearing for the ADU Special Exception for August 17, 2026 and noted the application will require TAHD approval. The motion to set the hearing was moved by C. Bunnell, seconded by R. Lupo and passed unanimously.
