Ward County awards $3.33M paving, $1.97M sealcoat and $509K bridge contracts

The Ward County Commission on March 3 approved three major public-works contracts to be paid from the county sales tax account (134.0024.300.2999). Commissioner Olson moved to award the paving project on County Road 15 (CP-1510(26)) to Central Specialties Incorporated for $3,332,127.16; Commissioner Schuler seconded and the motion passed on a unanimous roll call.
Highway Engineer Dana Larsen presented the projects before the votes. The commission also awarded the County Wide Crack Seal and Seal Coats Project (CP-5100(26)) to Morris Sealcoat and Trucking for $1,969,383.46, and awarded bridge replacement BR 51-135-39.0 & BR 51-144-35.0 to C3 Energy Partners for $509,449.33. The motions authorized the chair to sign construction contracts; funding was listed as account 134.0024.300.2999 (Sales Tax).
Commission records show each contract was approved by roll call with Commissioners Rostad, Merritt, Olson and Schuler voting yes. Work on the awarded projects will proceed under standard county contracting procedures and contract execution by the chair.
