Board renews and consolidates Keezletown Agricultural and Forestal District covering 2,516 acres

Senior Planner Kayla R. Yankey presented AFD26-0594 to amend Chapter 17 overlay districts by combining Keezletown North and South Agricultural and Forestal Districts into a single Keezletown AFD and to renew the district. The advisory committee and the Planning Commission recommended approval.
The ordinance describes the district geography and parcels by tax ID, prohibits certain uses (golf courses, driving ranges, public campgrounds, auto graveyards/junkyards), and sets terms and renewal provisions under the Agricultural and Forestal Districts Act of Virginia. The adopted district comprises eighty-two (82) parcels totaling approximately two thousand five hundred and sixteen (2,516) acres and is effective June 24, 2026.
During the public hearing, Dee Dee Sellers spoke in favor of the amendment; the Board adopted the ordinance on a 5-0 vote.
