Council advances Land Use Management Code and general plan update; parks and community engagement noted

Mayor Johnson reported progress on a Wasatch Front Regional Council–funded update to the Land Use Management Code and General Plan and circulated a scope of work to councilmembers. Council reported on parks use, completed paving, and community sign-ups for the 'Communities That Care Coalition.'
Rush Valley councilmembers reported on paving, parks activity and planning work during the June 17 meeting.
Councilmember Harding said paving work is complete and he will follow up on shouldering driveways and seek bids for striping. Councilmember Gardner reported heavy use of the town pavilion and said a recent Bingo Night was well attended. Clerk/Recorder Patty Rowe said five residents signed up for the ‘Communities That Care Coalition’ and she will forward names to Amy Jensen at the Tooele County Health Department.
Mayor Johnson updated the council on the Land Use Management Code and General Plan update funded through a Wasatch Front Regional Council grant, saying he had distributed a scope of work and would next pursue hiring a firm to prepare the code and plan. The council also discussed verifying insurance coverage if the Clover Church building is made available for public events.
