Council amends 2025–2026 budget; Fire Department pays off rescue truck

At the June 17 meeting the council adopted Resolution No. 2026-02 amending the 2025–2026 fiscal year budget to reflect actual revenues and expenditures, including adjustments to tax revenue lines, Tooele County Health Department grant funding, Class B & C Road revenue, Fire Department revenues, interest earnings, donations, rental revenues, and payroll.
Mayor Johnson explained that revenues exceeded original estimates in several categories and that, with the increased revenue, the Fire Department opted to pay off the rescue truck. The minutes record additional wildland response reimbursement revenue linked to recent responses. Councilmember Dana Gardner moved to adopt the amendment; Councilmember Jeremiah Harding seconded and the motion carried with all present voting in favor.
