The Rush Valley Town Council on June 17 adopted the 2026–2027 fiscal year budget and set the certified tax levy at 0.000702, up from last year’s 0.000669. Mayor Johnson led the budget presentation during a public hearing held at 7:05 p.m., which the council closed at 7:08 p.m.
During the hearing Mayor Johnson reviewed department budgets and identified a revision increasing anticipated Class B & C Road revenue to $95,000. Council members noted the Town had been awarded a $50,000 Tooele County Tourism Grant to support the Clover Church restoration project. No members of the public spoke during the hearing. Councilmember Dana Gardner moved to adopt Resolution No. 2026-01; Councilmember Jeremiah Harding seconded and the resolution carried with all present voting in favor.
The council record notes that Mayor Johnson said any increase beyond the certified rate would require a Truth in Taxation hearing. The adoption formalizes spending and revenue expectations for the coming fiscal year and preserves the council’s option to call additional hearings if tax adjustments are proposed.
