American Fork Library honored with fifth consecutive state excellence award

The American Fork City Council recognized the American Fork City Library on Feb. 10 after the Utah State Library Division awarded the library its Excellence in Library Services Award for the fifth consecutive year. Mayor Brad Frost said the designation reflected sustained innovation and community engagement.
Library Director Cassandria Crane said the recognition was best explained through patron stories rather than statistics. "The library allows them to 'see the world without leaving home' and connect with interesting people," she said, and cited inclusive programs such as an American Sign Language story time for a deaf child. Crane lauded staff, volunteers, the Library Board, and the Friends of the Library for their role in service delivery.
Mayor Frost said the council and residents appreciate the library’s role as a community resource and thanked the library team for their contributions. The recognition, officials said, underscores the library’s continuing focus on access, programming, and public service.
