Free 'Bobber Buddies' youth fishing clinic set for May 16 at Lake Wabaunsee

Ilarose Bosworth told the commission that Redeemer Lutheran Church will host a free 'Bobber Buddies' fishing clinic on May 16 at Lake Wabaunsee, with a backup date of May 30. The program will be open to youth ages 5–15; the first 20–30 registrants are slated to receive a new rod and reel to take home. Fish & Game will provide the clinic instruction and the Bait Shop will supply the initial worms. Fire District #5 will assist with grilling hotdogs for lunch and public transportation can be scheduled for families who need a ride.
Bosworth said the City of Eskridge supports the event and there will be no fee for fishing during the clinic. The announcement was informational and recorded in the minutes; no permit or fee action on this item was recorded during the March 2 meeting.
