Royal City schedules special session on food truck code; mayor finds Sweet Sips location exempt
Summary
Royal City's mayor scheduled a special meeting to consider updates to the city's food truck ordinance and determined that the Sweet Sips mobile vendor did not fall within the 300-foot proximity restriction because the nearby city right-of-way had been vacated. The special meeting was later moved to April 1, 2025.

Mayor Christensen announced a special meeting to discuss updates to Royal City's food truck ordinance, originally set for 6:00 p.m. on March 18, 2025. The council later recorded that, due to scheduling conflicts, the special session would be held at 6:00 p.m. on April 1, 2025.
At the council meeting the mayor also addressed a complaint about the location of the Sweet Sips mobile vendor, stating that the city's 300-foot proximity rule did not apply to that location because the city right-of-way there had been vacated. No public comment was taken at the planned special session; the March 4 minutes note it will be a public meeting but that no public comment would be accepted during the special session.
