Elk County approves merit increases, transfers and promotion for county employees

After executive sessions on non-elected personnel, the Elk County Board of Commissioners approved several personnel actions on Sept. 30. Commissioner Russell moved and Commissioner Hendricks seconded a series of merit and wage adjustments: Robert Miller received a merit increase from $20.21 an hour to $21.21 an hour; Aaron Kokesch was transferred from the Noxious Weed Department to the Maintenance Department with a wage increase from $14.00 an hour to $16.50 an hour; and Julia Coble received a merit increase from $13.82 an hour to $14.82 an hour. All motions carried 3-0.
The commission later recessed for a separate executive session that included Sheriff John Walker and County Counselor Paul Dean. On returning, the board approved the promotion of Kelly Young to Undersheriff with a wage increase from $16.53 an hour to $18.53 an hour. The minutes record each personnel motion as carried unanimously by the three commissioners present.
