Commissioners approve $78,000 NEPA addendum to keep bridge project on schedule

Public Works Superintendent Jon Jordan informed the board that a NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) study addendum is required for federal compliance on the Bridge Improvement Project, and that the addendum would cost $78,000. Commissioners approved proceeding with the NEPA study and authorized advancing the project with a total project cost not to exceed $908,000; Vice Chairman Jim Maxwell moved and Commissioner Alan Groom seconded the motion, which passed 3-0.
County staff said approving the NEPA addendum avoids project delays and allows the bridge projects to advance to the next development phase. Commissioners requested staff continue to monitor schedule and budget impacts and report back to the board.
