Highway Administrator Bobby Shomper proposed adding a second pipe to provide roughly six inches of additional drainage at an estimated cost of $7,000; Commissioner Mayo made the motion to proceed subject to written approval from other landowners and the motion passed unanimously.
The Board also approved operational and procurement authority for the highway department. After a 10-minute executive session on job responsibilities, commissioners voted unanimously to allow Highway Administrator Bobby Shomper to spend up to $5,000 per incident on repairs without prior Board approval. The Board additionally approved a one-week rental of a remote-control packer from United Rental for $963 and tabled a separate lighting purchase pending further information.
