Arts council asks council for modest funding increase to $25,000

Both speakers argued that spending on the arts supports local businesses, provides youth engagement and brings residents together. The council thanked the speakers and acknowledged the request; no formal vote or appropriation occurred during the meeting, but the request will be considered in the budget process.
