Roosevelt County commissioners approved two union contracts and a series of personnel actions across meetings held Aug. 5–19, 2025. The board voted to approve a two-year contract with AFSCME Local #118 and a Teamsters Local #2 contract for Dispatch positions.
The board accepted the resignation of Fair Manager Angela Miller and approved multiple hires and annual pay raises: Road Department employees Ed Kalal and Jonah Riediger received annual raises; Dispatch employee Alex Sutton received an annual raise; Detention Center employees (including Tyson Nelson and newly hired jailers Joclynn Williams and Tasha Fourstar) were approved with starting dates and wage grade information recorded; the board approved Jenny Fuller as Health Department Director and hires to the Sheriff’s Office (Dalyn Schmidt) and Treasurer’s Office (Helen Welte).
Minutes record motions made by Commissioner Toavs and seconded by Commissioner Marottek for these items. Where the minutes record starting wages or salary grades (for jailers the minutes note starting wage grade 1 range 6, $20.95 per hour), those figures are included; the minutes do not list full contract financial details or annual raise percentages for every hire beyond those recorded in specific motions.
