John May, maintenance, presented two bids to repair wind damage at the Jay County Retirement Center. Goodhew Roofing submitted bids of $20,800 for shingles or $25,900 for standing seam on the north addition and $12,000 for the large barn repair; Schwartz Building Supply & Construction quoted $21,700 for shingles or $19,500 for rib metal on the addition and provided a rough $3,500 estimate for the barn.
Commissioners decided to select standing‑seam roofing from Goodhew Roofing to match the main building and authorized a minimum patch on the barn. Chad Aker moved to approve the Goodhew bid for standing seam and the motion passed unanimously.
