Council approves rezoning of 672 West 750 North from RA-1 to R1-9000

The City Council voted unanimously to rezone about 2.54 acres at 672 West 750 North from RA-1 (Residential Agriculture) to R1-9000 (Residential). Development Services Director Patrick O’Brien told the Council the requested rezoning steps down zoning intensity and aligns the site with surrounding R1-9000 parcels; the applicant intends to retain the existing dwelling and accessory structure on one lot and create two new lots as part of a future subdivision.
Council members discussed a Mitchell Springs watercourse that traverses the site where a future trail is planned; O’Brien said required easements for the trail and watercourse would be secured during plat approval and the Engineering Department could consider acquiring land if necessary. Council Member Ernie John moved to approve the zone change subject to staff conditions; Clark Taylor seconded and the motion passed with the present members voting yes.
