American Fork Library honored with Utah excellence award for fifth year

The American Fork City Council recognized the American Fork City Library on Feb. 10 for receiving the Utah State Library Division’s Excellence in Library Services Award for the fifth consecutive year. Mayor Bradley J. Frost presented the award and praised the library’s ongoing innovation and community engagement.
Library Director Cassandria Crane said the recognition reflected patron experience more than raw metrics and read several patrons’ comments about the library’s role in their lives. "The library allows them to 'see the world without leaving home' and connect with interesting people," Crane said, adding that services such as American Sign Language story time have had meaningful personal impact. She thanked library staff, volunteers, the Library Board, and the city administration for their support.
Council members and the mayor highlighted the library’s role as a community resource and commended staff for maintaining high standards following COVID-era innovations. The Council did not take formal action on the award; the recognition was entered into the record by the mayor and library leadership.
