During the canvass portion of the special session, County Clerk Gina Shores led a detailed review of 16 provisional ballots. The Board validated provisional ballots cast because of countywide changes of address, local moves or legal name changes and added those to the certified totals; one verified military ballot was examined, signed for and processed under applicable federal and state parameters.
The Board also excluded provisional ballots submitted by individuals determined to have active felony records or non-citizenship status. The minutes record the categories used for inclusion and exclusion during the canvass; Clerk Shores guided the Board through statutory qualifications for provisional-ballot disposition before certification of the recall results.
