Following certification, the Board reconvened as the Board of County Commissioners and took administrative steps to notify state officials and local party leaders. Commissioner J.W. Finn moved to authorize Clerk Gina Shores to transmit the official certificates of the recall and the vacancy to Governor Laura Kelly, the Kansas Secretary of State, and the Morton County Republican Party Central Committee pursuant to K.S.A. 25-3902 and K.S.A. 25-4328; Vice-Chairman Ed Anderson seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
