Julie Ellison, Grant County Treasurer, reported to the court that the county's general fund payroll is at roughly 45% and revenue is at 83%, while general fund expenditures are at 36% for the fiscal period reviewed. She said the December consumer price index produced a 2.57% cost-of-living allowance to be included in 2026–27 budget workpapers and that the Pool's interest rate has fallen to 4.10%.
Ellison said budget workpapers were distributed to departments with a requested return by Feb. 11 so the county can schedule the first budget meeting in March. The court did not take formal action on the budget at the session but noted the timeline and the expected review process.
