Commissioners reappoint board members, accept resignations and set hearing dates

Roosevelt County commissioners approved several board reappointments, accepted the resignation of GIS Administrator Clayton Vine, and scheduled a school territory transfer hearing for Jan. 16, 2026. Commissioners also approved a contract with the Powder River County superintendent.
During December meetings the Roosevelt County Commission handled appointments, acknowledgements of resignation and upcoming procedural matters.
On Dec. 2 and Dec. 23 the commission reappointed Ken Lansrud and Brian Miller to the Wolf Point TV District Board and reappointed Gregg Labatte and Gary Hanson to the Weed Board. The board accepted GIS Administrator Clayton Vine’s resignation effective May 31, 2026, and accepted his resignation from the TV District Board effective Jan. 1, 2026, with public thanks for 31 years of service.
Clerk Erika Fyfe reported receiving a petition from Froid schools requesting a territory transfer that will affect two Culbertson students; the hearing was scheduled for Jan. 16 at 10:00 a.m., to be presided over by Molly Lloyd with the Powder River County superintendent. The commission also approved a contract between the Powder River County superintendent and Roosevelt County.
All reappointments and the contract motion were made by Commissioner Robert Toavs, seconded by Commissioner Doug Marottek and recorded as passed.
