Commissioners approve bridge engineering, trailer and tin purchases for roadside operations

Roosevelt County commissioners approved several road-related procurements and engineering on Jan. 6 and Jan. 12. The board approved Interstate Engineering Task Order 11 to advance design and work on the Road 2050 bridge replacement project, and they approved the Road Department’s request to purchase a 2016 Trail Max tilt-bed trailer from Bridges Construction for $19,000 to move a John Deere backhoe between Poplar, McCabe and Bainville shops.
In a subsequent special meeting on Jan. 12 the board approved purchasing tin for the Wolf Point shop from Fortify for $7,541.95 to address interior and insulation problems and help preserve the structure. Road Foreman Derek McNabb described the trailer’s intended use and the tin’s role in preserving insulation at the Wolf Point shop.
