Roosevelt County commissioners approved several procurement items during the Jan. 6 meeting, including a Timeclock Plus system intended to integrate with the Black Mountain payroll software. County minutes record that the annual fee is $1,275.00 and the implementation fee is $2,212.50. Commissioner Robert Toavs and Road Foreman Derek McNabb explained the system can be wall-mounted, accessed via computer, or used on a phone.
Commissioner Gordon Oelkers objected to the purchase, stating it was “micromanaging” and noting the county would still need to manually enter hours into payroll unless further automation occurred. Separately, the board approved an annual safety consulting contract with Northern Plains Compliance Consulting and authorized the Road Department to purchase a 2016 Trail Max tilt-bed pintle hitch trailer from Bridges Construction for $19,000 to move a John Deere backhoe between shops.
