Commissioners adopt resolutions on meeting dates, office hours and public-notice locations
Summary
In early January the Roosevelt County Commission passed three administrative resolutions setting meeting dates and public participation procedures (Res. 2026-8), county office hours (Res. 2026-9) and designated posting locations for public notices (Res. 2026-10).
Over the first weeks of January the Roosevelt County Board of County Commissioners adopted a set of governance resolutions intended to clarify meeting schedules, office hours and where public notices will be posted.
Resolution 2026-8 requires the board to post weekly agendas on the main hallway bulletin board in the courthouse and the county building in Culbertson and to provide reasonable opportunity for public participation prior to final action, citing Section 2-3-103(1), Montana Code Annotated. Resolution 2026-9 sets county office hours “from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., except Saturdays and legal holidays” while noting the Commissioners’ Office will close 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. when commissioners are not available. Resolution 2026-10 designates the posting locations required under MCA 7-1-2121/2122/2123.
All three resolutions were moved and seconded by members of the board and were recorded as adopted in the minutes. The board attested the resolutions and directed staff to implement the posting and hours changes.
