Roosevelt County approves multiple hires and annual pay raises

Roosevelt County commissioners approved several personnel actions across December meetings, including new hires in the library, detention center and dispatch, and annual pay raises for select county employees.
At the Dec. 2 meeting the board approved hiring Daniel Mansfield for the library, Damien Nesbitt for the detention center and Marissa Follet for dispatch. At the Dec. 8 special meeting the board approved hiring Thomas BlackEagle Jr. to the detention center, and on Dec. 23 the commission approved Jace Johnson for the sheriff’s office. Each motion was made by Commissioner Robert Toavs and seconded by Commissioner Doug Marottek and was recorded as passed.
The board also approved annual pay raises for detention center employees Kobe Clark and Nathaniel Clark, library employee Melissa Buckles and dispatch employee Kylie Portra. Commissioners publicly thanked long‑serving staff where noted; when acknowledging GIS Administrator Clayton Vine’s resignation they thanked him for 31 years of service. The commission scheduled standard administrative follow‑ups where required by personnel policy and county hiring procedures.
The approvals were routine motions on consent and did not include contested votes or recorded roll calls in the minutes.
