Roosevelt County commissioners adopted Resolution 2026-4 at a special public meeting Sept. 3 to approve the final operating budget and set appropriation authority for fiscal year July 1, 202526ndash;June 30, 2026. Commissioner Robert Toavs moved to approve the resolution and Commissioner Doug Marottek seconded; the motion passed.
The resolution cites statutory requirements (Section 7-6-4030, MCA; Sections 7-6-4020, 7-6-4021 and 7-6-4024, MCA) and states the resolution includes an increase in countywide property taxes calculated under MCA 15-10-420. It lists the per-home increases due to permissive levy and jail bond levy as $7.39 (for $100,000), $22.16 (for $300,000) and $44.30 (for $600,000). The effective date of the resolution is July 1, 2025, even though adoption occurred after that date.
