County Clerk Gina Shores proposed marking the county’s 250th anniversary by decorating courthouse office doors and hosting a weekly popcorn event. She said the office has researched a popcorn machine, and several commissioners and County Attorney David Thompson offered personal donations to purchase it.
Commissioners also discussed a letter of interest for a Southwest Kansas Area on Aging Sub Region board seat and, by consensus, chose not to fill the position at this time. The commission agreed to release a public statement to clarify issues that arose over the past year. The clerk reviewed upcoming meeting dates and the commission adjourned at 12:42 p.m.
