Steph and Dusty, representing Morton County EMS, told commissioners the Richfield tanker needs new tires and wheels and requested purchasing the parts from BestOne at the government rate; the commission approved the purchase on a motion by JW Finn, seconded by Ed Anderson, recorded as unanimous.
Dusty and Steph also reported several recent fires and low moisture in the area. They said they will have a fire truck present at a service for Steven Coen, a former Elkhart resident who served as a firefighter in Guymon, Oklahoma. EMS staff asked for guidance on preparing their budget while salary figures remain unsettled; commissioners advised working with the county clerk.
Dusty asked that the commission allow EMS to hand-deliver thank-you notes to those who assisted with recent fires; the commissioners approved the request.
