Public works presents North Street bridge update; commissioners approve grader overtime

Sheldon from Public Works presented a Kirkham Michael bridge map for North Street, explaining that the roadway previously was county‑owned before annexation by the city and that bridge classification and signage must be coordinated between the county and city. Tim Hardy, city administrator, joined the discussion about signage and classification updates.

Sheldon requested authorization to run graders if rain arrives because roads were reported to be in poor condition; the commission approved overtime on a motion by JW Finn, seconded by Jim Tucker, recorded unanimous. Sheldon also submitted an application for the Landfill foreman position; the board recessed into brief executive session(s) for personnel (a 5‑minute session with two 2‑minute extensions) and returned with no public action recorded in the minutes.
