SBDC in Grant County seeks advisor; plans virtual and in-person workshops

Jeff Nelson updated the Grant County College Advisory Board on SBDC activity and staffing during the Feb. 4, 2026, virtual meeting. He said the SBDC has received two complete applications for the Grant County Advisory opening and plans to review applications on Feb. 16, with a panel interview that will include Jeff, two current SBDC advisors, and Jesse Schaefer. The panel hopes to onboard a new advisor in March.
Nelson said he has been working with six new SBDC clients in Grant County, primarily through virtual meetings. He also described a winter/spring slate of online workshops; CyberMill will stream classes at the Prairie City location for people who prefer to attend in person. A further workshop series is planned for fall.
No motion or vote was taken on staffing at this meeting; the board received the update and will participate in the review and interview panel as described.
