County Sheriff Brad Hudson asked the board to increase daily room-and-board fees for jail inmates. On motion by Waugh, seconded by House, the board set the fee at $40.00 per day for inmates who are Van Buren County residents and $60.00 per day for non-residents (Ayes: 3).
The board accepted with regrets the Jan. 10, 2025 resignation of full-time dispatcher/jailer Gracee Fundel. Upon recommendation of the county sheriff, the board appointed Bethany Boyles of Birmingham as full-time dispatcher/jailer effective Jan. 13, 2025, at a salary of $24.31 per hour (Ayes: 3).
