Van Buren County supervisors elect Meek chair, Waugh vice-chair and approve routine 2025 resolutions

The Van Buren County Board of Supervisors convened Jan. 2 in Keosauqua and elected Mark Meek chairman for the 2025 calendar year and Bob Waugh vice-chairman. The board approved the Dec. 9, 2024 minutes (Ayes: House, Meek; Abstain: Waugh).
The supervisors signed several administrative resolutions. Resolution #01-02-2025A authorized County Auditor Lisa Plecker to issue warrants for fixed charges and approved payrolls under Chapter 331.506(3), Code of Iowa, and the board named the Van Buren County Register as the official county newspaper for 2025. The board also instructed the auditor, pursuant to Chapter 349.18, to publish a listing of county employees and their 2024 compensation. The board approved the package of ten actions on motion (Roll Call: Meek Aye; Waugh Aye; House Aye).
