Brandi McGonagill, Houston County Extension Coordinator and Area Livestock Agent, presented an update to the Board on Feb. 4 describing Extension Office activities over the past year, including school programming, outreach and community events.
McGonagill introduced four staff members who each summarized their work: Morgan Grizzle (Ag & Natural Resources), La Keshia Levi (County Extension Agent and FACS Coordinator), Samantha Price (4‑H Agent) and Noah Shedd (4‑H Educator). Commissioners praised the breadth of services and noted the educational influence of agricultural programs in county schools. McGonagill expressed thanks to the Board for support in building an outdoor classroom, saying the facility "is used weekly." Chairman Perdue and commissioners thanked the Extension staff for their work and community engagement.
The presentation included examples of school activities and outreach opportunities; no county funding or budget adjustments tied specifically to the Extension update were recorded in the minutes.
