The Nye County Water District Governing Board voted 5-0 on Oct. 14 to approve payment of the district’s 2026 annual membership assessment to the Central Nevada Regional Water Authority in the amount of $7,500.
Staff described the authority as a mission-critical regional body that represents eight central Nevada counties and provides legislative advocacy and coordination on water issues. Board members confirmed the assessment is budgeted and discussed the authority’s role and long-standing relationships. Manager recommended proceeding and board members who serve as liaisons were noted as active participants in the regional group.
The measure passed unanimously. Staff said the membership supports the district’s ability to monitor legislation and coordinate on regional water matters.
