NDOT letter prompts staff to return on Green Valley Grocery permit

Nye County staff told the Regional Transportation Commission that comments from the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) require further review before the Green Valley Grocery permit at the corner of Highway 372 and 160 can proceed.
Tom Bowling told the board that NDOT's response to the general contractor listed multiple required changes, including right-turn lanes in and out, acceleration and deceleration lanes and closing one of the driveways on 372. "If you look in your backup on item number 6 ... there's a list of things in here that is going to require them to do," Bowling said. He added an additional NDOT response arrived that morning and that staff had not yet reviewed it, so the item will be brought back to the commission when review is complete.
Commissioners expressed concern about traffic impacts at the intersection and noted they have long asked NDOT for improvements such as right-turn lanes. The board took no formal action and asked staff to review the new NDOT correspondence and return the item for further consideration at a future meeting.
