Planning director outlines pending CUPs, subdivisions and Antill wetland mitigation project

Stephanie Johnson, planning director, presented the department's monthly update for February 2026 and listed current applications and projects.
"We still have 4 CUPs and 1 rezoning. The 1 conditional use permit is going before the planning commission next week for Mr. Osborne Carter," Johnson said. She reported ten residential primary permits, three subdivisions approved, and 50 pending applications. Johnson also noted two solar facilities on Cumberland Road South, a poultry facility, and a new Antill Wetland Mitigation project of about 64 acres along the James River on property owned by Johnny Osmo.
