Sanchez also updated the commission on the detox center (phase 1 underway; new fire line quote pending; interior painting and floor preparations completed; phase 2 design about 70% complete and anticipated to begin late May or early June pending state review), the Penasco Community Center (building permit application and possible new septic system), and Arroyo Hondo community center bathroom plumbing work being priced to finish this summer.
Commissioners asked about vandalism (tagging) at the detox center and Sanchez said cameras would be planned into long-term finishing and removal of tagging would wait until after final finishes are installed. Members thanked staff for monitoring budgets and scheduling state reviews.
