The Draper City Planning Commission voted unanimously to approve a plat amendment for the Patterson Subdivision that resizes stormwater retention basins on lots 2 and 3 of the recorded subdivision at approximately 1571 East Patterson Lane (Application 2024‑0297‑SUB).
Mary Anne Pickering, the staff contact, told the commission the change is limited in scope and that engineering reviewed the revised basins and determined they "will still meet the minimum standards" (staff presentation). The amendment was requested after the applicant redesigned a house and found recorded easements conflicted with the original basin footprints; Pickering said there were no public comments on the item and staff recommended approval (staff comment). Applicant Brett Janssen added the change is dimensional: "we're just changing the size… I'm actually retaining 3 times more than they've asked for, just changing the dimensions so they're skinnier but deeper."
Commissioner Lisa moved to approve the plat amendment "based on the following findings for approval and subject to the requirements as listed in the staff report dated 10/01/2024," the motion was seconded and passed with a unanimous vote from the commissioners present. The action record reflects approval by the commission as documented in the meeting minutes.
