Board schedules Board of Equalization dates and moves March work session location

Jodie Rhea asked the board to set dates to convene as the Board of Equalization and Review; the board scheduled meetings for April 6 and May 4, 2026. Later in the meeting, commissioners agreed to change the March 16 work-session location to the Community Meeting Room to accommodate Cooperative Extension’s annual report and lunch; Commissioner Vivian Saunders moved the location change and Commissioner Ronald Roberson seconded. The motion passed 4-0.
County Manager Juan Vaughan also reminded the board about the March 11 NCACC District Meeting at Halifax Community College in Weldon, NC. The scheduling actions were taken without further amendment and were recorded in the meeting minutes.
