Paul Gage told the Select Board that the streetlight nearest his home at 41 South Main Road is very bright and shines into his house. He provided the pole identifier, which the minutes record as “182 over NET&T Co, over 447.” The board agreed to investigate options with Otis Police, the Fire Department and Eversource, including placing a shield or removing the fixture.
No immediate decision was made at the July 14 meeting. Board members directed staff to contact the police, fire and the electric utility to determine whether the light can be adjusted or shielded without compromising public safety or street illumination standards.
