Commissioners approve Bigs Subdivision, planner urges public input on land-use update

County Planner Karna Stoddard told commissioners the Planning & Zoning Commission is researching where the county left off with the 2011 land-use plan and requested public input on what private-property regulations residents believe are important. "We are still reviewing the large acreage subdivision regulations," Stoddard said, noting changes are needed to align county subdivision regulations with current state statutes.
Rachelle Anderson, project engineer at Benchmark, presented the Bigs Subdivision. Commissioner Aaron Walsh moved to approve the subdivision and the motion passed. The board also signed the Scott Subdivision 2nd filing, which had been recommended previously by the Planning & Zoning Commission. Road & Bridge Supervisor Chris Stoddard reported crews are prioritizing roads that receive moisture and asked motorists to use caution near roadside mowing equipment.
