The Unified School District No. 505 Board of Education approved several routine and substantive items at its June 10, 2026 meeting, including new property-insurance rates for the 2026–27 school year and a negotiated agreement reached in executive session.
Board President Roberta Carter called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Shelby Spielbusch moved to approve the agenda; Jennifer Stewart seconded and the vote was 7-0. The board then approved the consent agenda, including the May 11 minutes and June bills (motion by Maggy Robison; seconded by Brock Aday; vote 7-0).

The board met in executive session under Kansas statute 75-4319 for negotiations and later approved the negotiated agreement as presented (motion by Shelby Spielbusch; vote 7-0). Following additional executive sessions on non-elected personnel, the board voted to hire several staff for the 2026–2027 school year — the hiring motion passed 6-0.
