Kevin, the district’s facilities lead, briefed the board on the status of multiple capital projects funded by the district’s capital levy and impact fees.
Kevin said the ESCO lighting upgrades are complete at Amboy, Captain Strong, Chief and Glenwood; in-progress work includes Battle Ground High (about 80% complete), Casey (50%), Lauren (90%) and Pleasant Valley Campus (85%). He said remaining sites (Daybreak, Maple Grove, Prairie High and Yacolt) have staggered starts through September and that the Department of Energy Services requires some work to complete by late May—staff expect final schedule work to extend into October or November where night shifts are needed. Kevin also reported roofing and parking-lot projects and noted the trades building contract is on tonight's agenda for approval.
Board members asked about timelines and safety; Kevin said site-specific coordination and contractor scheduling will determine precise completion windows. Staff will report back with schedule updates as construction phases proceed.
