EDA authorizes director to sign GO Virginia contract with Virginia Tech for blue catfish project

The EDA authorized Executive Director Trenton Funkhouser Feb. 9 to accept, sign and deliver a contract with Virginia Tech for the Blue Catfish GO Virginia program and to schedule a kickoff meeting with VA Tech. Mr. Funkhouser described an initial advisory committee meeting and the contract proposal with GO Virginia and the Department of Housing and Community Development.
The motion was made by Joe Heyman, seconded by James Reed and approved unanimously. Staff said they will proceed to finalize the contract and begin the project's formal startup steps with Virginia Tech.
