EDA commits $40,000 match for Broad Creek BUILD planning grant

The Middlesex County Economic Development Authority voted Feb. 9 to commit $40,000 as a local match for a BUILD planning grant to support planning and design work for the Primary Boat Ramp at Broad Creek and an adjacent site proposed for a Marine Business Park. Anton Webre said the PDC planning grant application is about 70% complete and that the grant would cover planning and design costs estimated between $200,000 and $300,000.
Executive Director Trenton Funkhouser said a draft commitment letter for $40,000 was included in the board packet. The motion to approve the commitment was made by Joe Heyman, seconded by Anton Webre and approved unanimously. Board members noted that if the planning grant is awarded, additional match or implementation funds may be required during later stages.
